Day 01: Chennai

 

Assistance upon arrival at Chennai airport and straightaway drive to Mahabalipuram. Upon arrival at Mahabalipuram, transfer to hotel, check – in. Evening at leisure / to explore the place.Overnight at Mahabalipuram hotel.

Day 02: MAHABALIPURAM

Morning breakfast at hotel. After breakfast drive to Mahabalipuram, upon arrival at Mahabalipuran, transfer to hotel, check – in. Later proceed for sightseeing tour of city visit, Shore Temple, Arjuna’s Penance, Krishna Mandapam, Five Rathas and of course the wonderful beach of Mahabalipuram.
Mahabalipuram (or Mamallapuram, its ancient name) is one of history’s intriguing enigmas. Mahabalipuram was a flourishing port town of the Pallava rulers of South India who chiseled in stone a fabulous open-air museum of sculptures under the vault of a burning sky. The mystery of Mahabalipuram lingers, unraveled, but its sculptural extravaganza is a living testament of the virile artistic temperament of the Pallavas who were trendsetters in South Indian art.

Day 03: MAHABALIPURAM–PUDUCHEERY(By surface–100Kms/ 2½hrs)

Morning breakfast at hotel.After breakfast drive to Puducherry. Upon arrival at Puducheery, transfer to hotel, check – in. Later proceed for sightseeing tour of Puducherry.
There’s a little piece of France in India and it’s called Puducherry. A fascinating, small town with enough elements to charm its visitors, Pondicherry whose official name was changed to Puducherry in 2006 was once the largest French colony in India, hence the heavy French influence. A popular destination for seeking spiritual enlightenment, Pondy is home to the highly revered Sri Aurobindo Ashram and Auroville, where people of varied beliefs and nationalities live together in harmony.

Day 04: PUDUCHEERY – CHITAMBARAM – KUMBAKONAM – TANJAVUR (By surface – 180Kms/ 4hrs)

Morning breakfast at hotel.After breakfast drive to Trichy en route visiting temple cities of Chitambaram and Kumakonam. Chidambaram, which attracts thousands of Shaivite and Vaishnavite pilgrims to sacred Nataraja temple every year and Kumbakonam, which as stated also known as Temple Town. Upon arrival at Thanjavur, transfer to hotel, check – in. Evening at leisure.Overnight at Thajavur hotel.

Thanjavur District is the Rice Bowl of Tamil Nadu. The Big Temple and the other famous temples in the district are known all over the world.   Thanjavur was the cultural capital of the country in 1790.

Day 05: THANJAVUR–TRICHY–MADURAI (By Surface,135kms/ 03hrs)

Morning breakfast at hotel. After breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Thanjavur, visit Temples and other places of interest. Later drive to Trichy.
When you drive just 07kms beyond Trichy towards Madurai, you will come across one of the most important pilgrim city, Srirangam. On a small island between branches of the rivers Kaveri and Coleroon, lies the massive temple of Srirangam. The most revered of the 108 pilgrimage shrines of Vishnu, and the largest temple complex in all of India, it is surrounded by seven concentric walls (the outermost wall having a perimeter of over 3 kilometers) and 21 towers called gopurams.

Upon arrival at Madurai, transfer to hotel, check – in. Evening witness bed chamber ceremony at MeenakshiTemple.Overnight at Madurai hotel.

Madurai is a major city in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India. It is the administrative headquarters of Madurai District. Madurai is the third largest corporation city by area and third
largest city by population in Tamil Nadu and the 31st largest urban agglomeration in India. Located on the banks of River Vaigai, Madurai has been a major settlement for two millennia and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world

Day 06: MADURAI

Morning breakfast at hotel. After breakfast again proceed for sightseeing tour of Madurai. Later return to hotel. Evening at leisure.Overnight at Madurai hotel.

Day 07: MADURAI – THEKKADY (By surface – 150Kms/ 3hrs)

Morning breakfast at hotel. After breakfast drive to Thekkady. Upon arrival at Thekkady, transfer to hotel, check – in. Later proceed for Boat Ride in Periyarlake. This will be followed by Spice Plantation Tour. Evening at leisure.Overnight at Thekkady hotel.

THEKKADY - The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is spread across 777 km2 (300 sq mi), of which 360 km2 (140 sq mi) is thick evergreen forest. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar River adds to the charm of the park. The greatest attractions of Periyar are the herds of wild elephants, deers, bisons that come down to drink in the lake. Sanctuary can be accessed through a trekking or boating.

Day 08: THEKKADY – ALLEPPEY (By Surface, 130kms / 02½hrs)

Morning breakfast at hotel. After breakfast drive to Alleppey, upon arrival at Alleppeyboard House Boat for an overnight Alleppey round trip. Relax in house boat and enjoy back water and view of local villages and slowly sail between villages. Lunch and Dinner at House Boat. Overnight on board.

BACKWATER
'Backwaters' or 'Lagoons' are shallow bodies of water separated from the open sea by land. Because of this separation from the sea, Backwaters are free from the pounding action of waves. Backwaters are one of the most alluring and economically valuable features of

Kerala. These include lakes and oceaninlets which stretch irregularly along the coast. The biggest backwater is the Vembanadlake with an area of 260 sq.km.

Day 09: ARRIVE ALLEPPEY(Jetty)–COCHIN(By Surface,60kms / 1½hrs)

ArriveAlleppey. Breakfast on board. After breakfast deboard at Alleppey and drive to Cochin. Upon arrival at Cochin, transfer to hotel. Evening proceed to view Classical Dance of Kathakali. Overnight at Cochin hotel.

Day 10: Day 09: ARRIVE ALLEPPEY(Jetty)–COCHIN(By Surface,60kms / 1½hrs)
